On July 15, 2017 my (now) husband Dan and I got married, with a tented reception at the Breakwater Inn & Spa in Kennebunkport. It was an incredibly beautiful evening, exceeding all of our hopes. The two incredible tents were a breathtaking setting for it all. From the lighting, to the tables, chairs, linens, flatware, glassware and everything in between, our guests commented all night and into the weeks to come about the elegance. We are so thankful for the hard work you all put into our event – from set-up and breakdown to your guidance and advice in the planning, we couldn’t have had a better recommendation than the one to use Sperry and Exeter. We will surley recommend you all, too!
by Lindsay Pietroluongo You’ve been asked to make a speech at a wedding and you want keep things funny, not sappy. The good news is that you don’t have to be Kristen Wiig or Chris Rock to give a toast that’s hilarious. Here’s how to write a wedding speech that will get your audience laughing aloud.Get inspiredNeed to find some inspiration? Brainstorm ideas while watching your favorite sitcom or funny movie, or listening to a stand-up comic. You don’t want to copy the jokes you hear word for word, but they may spark your own creativity. While it’s tempting to steal a great punch line, remember that you’ll get a better response from a joke that’s original.Make it quickWedding speeches only have to be two or three minutes long. Just a quick note to let you know that your whole team was awesome for both the set up and breakdown at the Arnold wedding this past weekend. It really was a fabulous set up! I know your guys were challenged by the inconvenient lack of parking and the being patient for others to get out of their way and I really do appreciate the awesome attitude they had. Jason is fantastic and you musty clone him for me!!! Plus the guys came over Saturday right on time to help get sides up if needed! Stunning wedding for sure and I cannot wait to see photos! The 9 1/2’ sides were totally worth the $$$!!! Cheers, Kate
Oh my goodness. This post is going to be a bit of an image overload and I do apologize in advance.
Whitney and Grayson are the kind of couple that makes you just a little bit jealous. I mean…they are impeccably dressed, gorgeous, fun, and absolutely adorable together. These two made me smile all day long and I couldn’t wait to share this post! They were married on a beautiful, sunny (and hot!) day last weekend. These two are living down south so I blamed them for bringing the heat with them. 😉
On the wedding day Grayson wore a traditional black tux but changed into a white dinner coat (love that) for the reception. Whitney wore a stunning gown that looked like it was custom made for her. It had a beautiful belted bow and I especially loved the off-the-shoulder lace bolero that she wore for the church and formals and then took off for the reception…incredible! The girls had beautiful navy dresses that also included a low back with a large bow—so cute! The details were bright and clean and Wentworth By The Sea Country Club was a perfect backdrop for their Sperry tented reception. We went out at sunset to grab photos of these two and I think you’ll agree that it was worth every minute we stole away. 🙂 Big love!
On behalf of Meagan Kilpatrick at Maine Seasons Events, I would like to thank you for a fabulous collaboration this past Saturday at Alex & Charlie’s wedding at the Breakwater Inn in Kennebunkport. Your team is consistently professional and proactive. And, in terms of personalities – all so polite and a true pleasure to work with!
You can’t pick your weather, but you can prepare for it Here is a great article on wedding and event tent rental pros and cons by MegHotchkiss, LVR Events in New York. We offer a complete solution for all your rental needs so give us a call we are ready to help.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret that I learned early on in my career as an event planner—you can control a great number of things, but the weather will never be one of them. I know, I know. This isn’t want you want to hear. No one wants to rent a tent for their wedding. They can be expensive, and daunting to think about, and the sky is just so lovely this time of year. But if you have to rent a wedding tent (and don’t kid yourself: outdoor venue, no backup plan, high chance of rain? You may have to), then you’re going to want to make sure you price that in your “affordable and easy” outdoor venue cost early on, and then keep reading. Because there is actually (surprisingly) kind of a lot you need to know: Continue reading →

Natalie Wood & Robert Wagner (married 1957-1962 and 1972-1981)
When Natalie Wood (Rebel Without a Cause, Splendor in the Grass, West Side Story) was just 10-years-old, she told her mother that she was going to marry Robert Wagner, best known later on for his starring role in the TV series Hart to Hart. Well her wish came true not once, but twice. The pair went on a first date set up by the studio and married in 1957 amidst protest from her mother. After divorcing in 1962, she married film producer Richard Gregson before giving Wagner a second chance. Wood and Wagner remarried in 1972 and were together until her mysterious drowning while on a boat trip to Catalina Island in 1981. Many theorized that Wagner was involved with her death because the spouses were passionately arguing before she disappeared and she was found with bruises on her body.
